Laura Picklesimer
Laura Picklesimer is the author of the debut novel Kill for Love, released by Unnamed Press in 2023 and hailed as a “feminist American Psycho thriller” by Literary Hub. The book won the Launch Pad Prose Competition Top Book Prize and the Book Pipeline Grand Prize for Best Thriller, was named one of Debutiful’s Best Debut books of 2023, and was a finalist for a National Indie Excellence Award. The novel has been translated into Italian and Portuguese.
Laura’s fiction has appeared in the Kenyon Review, Arkansas International, Santa Ana River Review and Gold Man Review, among other publications. She was the grand prize winner of Enizagam Journal’s Fiction Contest (judged by author Rachel Khong) and was a finalist for the Speculative Literature Foundation Diverse Worlds Grant. Laura earned a B.A. in Creative Writing from UCLA and an MFA in Fiction from Cal State Long Beach. She lives in Pasadena, CA.
